OUR TurnKey Process
As the only firm in Maine to offer full turnkey services for new residential homes, we'll manage the entire process from "land to linens," providing cost information and services as needed to help you make informed decisions every step of the way.
1. CONSULT
After submitting your prefab pod inquiry form, we will reach out to connect with you on your program. Once we have determined that our homes will meet your needs, we can proceed with a site assessment.
*Land acquisition: You will need to own land to purchase a prefab home. If you do not yet have land, Knickerbocker Group’s real estate team would be happy to assist you in searching for and securing your Maine property.
2. Planning + Due Diligence
Before you can purchase a prefab pod, we will confirm that delivery of the home to your property or home is viable. We will research applicable land use and environmental codes and perform a site assessment.
3. Personalization
Although you may not alter any structural components of our prefab pods, you will be able to personalize your home to fit your style and needs by choosing finishes and fixtures from our preselected packages. If you would like to customize your home further, we are happy to engage you in our predesigned or custom home design-build services.
4. Proposal
A fixed price for your prefab pod will be provided with cost estimates for foundation and site work to support the pod. Please note that our fixed price guarantee goes into effect upon signing a production contract due to the inevitable fluctuation in the cost of materials over time. Final pricing and scheduling for your prefab pod is confirmed upon execution of the production contract and deposit.
5. Production
Our skilled craftspeople build your home in our manufacturing facility using innovative volumetric construction techniques and the highest quality, sustainable materials. Compared to traditional site-built construction, prefabrication reduces the turnaround time by nearly 75%.
6. Delivery
The home is delivered to your property via truck and crane and set onto your foundation. Our on-site finishing team completes the final touches and connects the utilities. After a final walkthrough, we hand over the keys to your new home!
